![]() When I woke up I had to pick one of two options which appeared as two icons in order to use the phone. Problem: installed updates on my Samsung S8 overnight. Swipe to the left until you come to the home screen you wish to delete, and choose Delete. From your home screen, choose and hold a blank area of the screen.Solution: Just follow the steps listed below to delete the extra home screens. When I tap the round control button that brings me to homescreen (sorry I have no idea what these are called) it is a blank screen and I can’t delete it or switch back to my original homescreen I pinch the screen it opens a blank page with a plus symbol in the middle or a homeplace symbol at the top of the page. If it’s not the same, just regard this and if it is I’m wondering how to get rid of the extra home screens or whatever they’re called. I have the S8 and I’m not sure if it works the same as the S7. Problem: Hi I’m not tech savvy in the least. If the data is important then you should have the phone repaired at a service center first before you can retrieve your data. Solution: Unfortunately there is no way that you can access the data stored in the phone unless the screen is working. Would love to find a way to connect the phones with smart switch but without use of the screen I can’t turn on USB file sharing I’ve already picked up a new phone but I use Signal as a secure Messaging app and unfortunately all of my text messages are currently unretrievable. Problem: I’m getting the black screen of death and have tried everything on your website to no Avail. ![]() In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. The most common culprit are cleaner or memory booster apps. Solution: It looks like you might have installed an app that is causing this problem. Any ideas? This has happened under the last 2 versions at least of Android on this phone. I haven’t been able to find anything on the net about this issue. However, I was able to use Bixby to bring up the reset button and that worked when pressed. I can turn on and off the screen using the power button however, I cannot reset my phone because the screen doesn’t work…I forgot about the hard reset so I’ll have to try that next time. Nothing is able to be accessed on the screen. ![]() ![]() A large (2x normal icon size) icon of a trash can appears at the top center of the screen.
